Ben Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 I was wondering if anyone out there that is really good with an airbrush would like to paint a semi cab, hood and sleeper that I have for a fee? I am wanting a yellow (on top) fading down into bright red, possibly with tribal graphics across the middle. I can provide pics of the real truck to show how it should look. I know this would be a good amount of work and i'm willing to pay! Just curious if anyone out there is up to it?
highway Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Calling Mr. Taylor, Mr. Mark Taylor!!! This could be your next tutorial!!! I've wanted to know how to do paintjobs like this, too, but I have never used an airbrush before. I need to do a green and yellow fade similar to what Ben described on the "Days of Thunder" City Chevrolet Nascar.
weasel Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 in the past, i've used some cardboard, even a 'cut out' of the shape/angle of the fade...hold it up to the body, shoot AT the cardboard and that will give ya a pretty decent fade line...
MikeMc Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 the fade is the easy part of this.......tribal graphics in scale are a real challenge!
Ben Posted May 14, 2010 Author Posted May 14, 2010 the fade is the easy part of this.......tribal graphics in scale are a real challenge! I'm sure the tribal gaphics could be made as a decal pretty easily and then cleared over. That would be fine. The fade, and a good polished out clear coat are my main concerns.
Ben Posted May 14, 2010 Author Posted May 14, 2010 Here's the truck i'm wanting to replicate, sort of. It will have a bigger sleeper but other than that it will be the same. This truck is called Tequila Sunrise. http://images109.fotki.com/v788/photos/3/1602553/8554895/ocshow006_24602-vi.jpg
