huffanpuff Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Studioman3 had this up (what is this) & this is the best picture I could get on how this truck works. I think they call this a high lift
george 53 Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Ken, I've NEVER seen a trailer empteid like that by the tractor. My Uncle who lived in Texas owned a LARGE dirt hauling company( he contracted out to the Texas Dept of Roads an Highways) and his large dirt hauling trailers were of the type that the TRAILER had the hydralics installed to lift it while it was still hooked to the tractor. They had HUGE hydralic booms that lifted the box section of the trailer just like that, to dump the load. Maybe someone from Texas has seen the type of trailer i'm refering to. But I've never seen one like yours.
huffanpuff Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 check this link to see a similar unit in action Leo that on u tube even with the outside wheels to steady that doesn't convince me it is a safe way to dump. I have been in sugar cane plants & they raise up the whole truck to dump cane, same for potatoes & beets. that has to be much pressure on the out side do nut tires. thanks for your info. ken
