Alright got this kit this morning, i could not find a subaru within my budget so i got a focus instead. This is my favorite focus of them all so far and its the closest thing in model form i can get to my real car (mg zr) but iv sent a request to tamiya to see if they will make my car as a model as it was in the WRC and they seem to have made most of the other rally cars.

This kit has its good points and bad points, good points are, everythings nicely moulded, alot of decals with it, nice set of wheels with soft rubber slick tyres, no warping on any parts, very little flashing, great detail ect ect.

Bad points, there are tiny holes in the body to point out where decals should line up, exhaust system is moulded to the chassis along with driveshaft, the hood is moulded to the body so there is no engine included, the tail lights glass is not very well detailed, with most new revell kits the put the detail of the tail lights on the body but with this they have tried to put it on the glass.

This is a level 4 kit, im not building it like the rally car, growing up in a tuner enviroment i know how i want to build it, heres how it stood out of the kit, again on my "body mounts" with wheels just stood in the wells.

Like the tuner idea seen loads of done up focus 1.1 in my tuner days I used to have a Renault 5 turbo.

What colour r u going with? I'm on the hunt for another focus kit I have the airfix one but it the body eas a bit wrecked so I cut it up lol made it a pick up. I think if ur keeping the stock wheels, painting the body black with white ford gt stripes would look good

its of to a nice start for shizzle

quick question, do the revell of germany WRC kits come with opening bonnets and full detail ?

also, here is some inspiration for you, its also a revell (US branch) focus, from thier tuner series and even though the paint sceme is based on a tasty WRX car but with an engine that packs a little more of a punch then the 2.0 ecotec

I love this build I think it's ace. As for the revell germany kit don't know but I think no open bonnet or much detail. Where could I find the us revell tuner kit? Over the pond here in the uk?

Niced one I did a build like this a few years ago took a rally Focus and made

a tuner out of it was into the tuners back then and it was the only one

at the time now it needs a little work as it did not survive 2 moves verry good

2 tires sfalling off and front bumper broke at the bottom one missing tail light

Well on this germany kit, the bonnet does not open B) so no engine either, the exhaust is moulded to the chassis too which is a let down. The front window glass on this kit also has the side doors glass too, i only really ent for this kit over the 2 in 1 tuner kit because i prefer the front bumper on this kit.

I think i will probaly cut out the moulded exhaust once i get some new dremmel blades and hobby knife but im not sure yet.

Iv painted the stock wheels, not fully painted yet, one more coat of black just to cover any missed spots then il clear coat them to make them look better.

These are probaly the nicest moulded wheels iv come across, i am expecting some aftermarket wheels so if they are too big il use these stock ones.

As for the paint....im thinking a mid shade of metallic blue, smoked tail lights and perhaps some black racing stripes, also some car window tint obviously on the windows.

OK change of plan with this car, i was just going to use it for paint testing because its curbside but then i thought it would be a shame to waste a nicely moulded full detail level 4 kit but i still wanted a engine in it, so keeping with my custom builds.

Here it is mocked up with 1 of the front bumpers, roof scoop and some nascar wheels.

Im wanting to get a set of wheels that are the stock wheels for most UK cars, the thicker tyres give it a more muscley look i think, the wheels im looking for are 4 bolt wheels, this is one from my Dads escort.

Reason i want these style wheels is at the moment round my area people just seem to be running these stock wheels on their focus' but in matte black, they make the car look nice i think, one of the only cars that suits stocks.

Anyway, heres the engine im putting in, its going in the back.

Yep thats right, the V12 from a ferrari enzo, can't say its not....different haha.

So i began mocking up the rear half of the roll cage and discovered there will be problems if i try stick the V12 in there so once iv got some money in my PP i will order the ford 427 engine as i will fit much better in the gap, if i decided to use the V12 i would have to cut away part of the roll cage and when i was mocking up the drivebelts hit the seats.

Iv not decided what to use for air intakes yet, that will come when iv got the engine but im thinking a twin cold air induction kit but i dont know how im going to make the cold air hoses go from the back of the car to the front bumper.
