Hi there,

I´m new to the board but someone maybe know some of my models from other boards.

First I´ll show you my latest build form 2006.

I used the reisuued kit of the AMT GMC Astro.

The frame and Cab were shortened.I scratchbuild the pipe, bumper and the mudflaps.Painted with automotive paint and weathered with some pastels. The decals are selfmade on my Alps printer. The trailer is still in progress and near to be finished since last year, lol. Here are some pictures:

The steps were made from thin wire

I put some junk to the cab

I have some other trucks in progress from last year but actually building a big diorama with an old gas station.....But I´m sure I´ll finish the other things this year.I´ll post them later.

Just had a look at your GMC Astro. Well done on the cab cut down to a slimline. I don't understand why the window wipers are so thick in plastic. I have tried to thin my wipers down but then the don't fit.

I really like your weathering style.

If anyone out there has a photo of a GMC Astro kit with realistic wipers I would like to see it.

First off, Chris, great model, the details and weathering are as good as I've seen.

As far as the wipers go, I owned a 1:1 Astro many years ago and always thought the wipers looked clunky. I guess maybe they were so heavy looking because they moved a large blade to clear the large windshield, compared to most other trucks. The pic is not a real good one (it's actually a pic of a pic) but you can see the wipers.

Chris,

This is a great build. The weathering is very realistic. Yes the wipers do look odd, but as Mike said they had a big windshield to clear.

Very kool truck Chris, luv tha chipped paint, very effective. Visited yur website Chris, looks like I'm gonna have to dig out my German/English translation dictionary, haven't used it since 1962. I hope that your language ain't changed too much. :(

I have a question Chris, do yall have resin casters all over Europe, like we do over here? When I do a Google search, I don't get to see very many European resin casters. I'm hoping that yall still get very involved in sports car racing and such.

Waaay Kool truck Chris. :D
