jbwelda Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Heres some photos of one of my lastest completions, along with a similar car i finished up some years ago. First the most current, a Nissan Silvia S-15 by Fujimi. I have to apologize for the photos, I've painted it a very dark very deep blue and i am having problems lighting it evenly. It sits pretty low to the ground, but I actually kept it off a bit more to give it a real life appearance and kept the stance fairly parallel to the ground vs the raked attitude of the Skyline companion. The wheels are XS Tuning things I believe. Thats a big metal wing hanging off the back, came as part of the "Garage Defend" kit and is actually pretty cool looking even to one who typically think those things are funny. The body kit looks pretty wild but was a real pain to make look good; theres a lot of filling there that you dont see. and finally a peek in the window at the dash and steering wheel Then we have the Nissan Skyline that i completed a couple years ago. It is painted in flip flop purple/blue/maroonpaint buried in clear, the photos dont really capture that too well but its pretty impressive in good light. The wheels and tires are from the Copperhead and this one has been slammed to the ground in the front while its actually higher in the back than the Silvia. The interior is a very understated leopard skin using decals from Scale Motorsport. To get the front so low I had to pie-cut the interior and then basically channel the front of the body over the frame. Both cars feature detailed undercarriage and even though they are both curbside, the engine detailing looks very nice underneath. All lowering is done in a realistic manner, I didnt just cut the tires off on top and glue them to the fender wells or anything. The photos of the Silvia are pretty bad, I think I will set up another lighting arrangement and try again later this week.
Gray Smith Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Hey jb I love em both, being a former Nissan owner myself. I really like that Silvia, the wing on it actually looks good and the dark color suits it well. Great work man. Gray
Steve H. Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Very nice work! Understated interior, indeed! Yeah, some tuners go too far, (and we laugh) but they are whats hot right now. You captured the look on both perfectly!
Ray Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 I love both of them but the skyline takes the cake.
Harry P. Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Not a fan of this type of car in the "real world", but your models could make me change my mind! They're really wel done...not too over-the-top. Overall, a couple of the nicer tuner models I've seen in quite a while. Great job!
Tonioseven Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 I think both of them are great but I especially love the Garage Defend Silvia! I've tried in vain for about 3 years to find that kit but to no avail! Thanks for doing that kit such a great justice!! Keep up the great work!! 8) 8) 8)
