Corvette.Jeff Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 (edited) since most of you guys have been doing this longer ive been alive, im looking for a extreme detail 240zl kit. My dad had a 73' back in the 90's before he met my mom and i always wanted to build him a replica, and one all tricked out of course. does anybody know what the best kit would be? Thanks,Jeff Edited May 30, 2010 by ThatOneEmoKid
RodneyBad Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Revell has one, don't know what yr it is but they all look alike to me
RyanSilva Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Not sure if its all the revell 240s or just my kit. But the passenger side door and window needed to be rescribed heavily, do to washed out seams, big pain in the butt, enough for me to scrap the body!
Corvette.Jeff Posted May 30, 2010 Author Posted May 30, 2010 thats a 280zx,those ran from 81' to 86(notsure) i used to have one, fun little cars, espescially when the turbo spoolex up did you want to get rid of that kit zuki?? :D
RodneyBad Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 did you want to get rid of that kit zuki?? :D It's been a stalled Project since 1987 MPC 440 and a bad attempt at a tub job
whale392 Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 I will third the Revell 240Z kit. It is supposed to represent the 71 version, as the bumpers changed in 1972 as well as the medallion behind the quarter window. My suggestion; pick up the Revell kit and a copy of the Black Dragon parts catalog and start building a 1973 (Black Dragon is like the J.C Whitney catalog just for the 'Z' cars).
sjordan2 Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 (edited) If you REALLY want to go for detail – though you'll need to add some of your own extras – the Tamiya 1/12 240ZG offers a big canvas. http://cgi.ebay.com/TAMIYA-1-12-DATSUN-240ZG-COUPE-BIG-SCALE-NEW-BOX-ZG-/270585882217?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f002ce669 The only problem is that it's right-hand drive.
