Nick Winter Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 I just found out that going way back my Great grandfather had a trucking company, that's not the new news I found, I found that it was in Windsor, Ontario and that they hauled all the electrical parts for The Ford Motor Company, My Great grandfather bought the Company sometime in the 20's-30's and ran it under the same name because the name was pretty well known, Goodison Trucking company is all my Grandfather could remember, but it had 2 initials before it, like C. L. Goodison Trucking, or something like that, in the beginning it was just a few trucks and trailers that were bought straight from the Goodison company, and it was my Great Great uncle and his twin brother my Great Grandfather Frank, he and his twin brother drove the trucks, and maintained them, after my grandfather and his brother Ralph were old enough they became drivers, and after World War II started my Grandfather joined the Army, by this Time the company had a few drivers, but after the draughting started there weren't but my Great Grandfather and Great great uncle to drive so women were hired to drive, after my great Grandfather died in the mid- 50's the company and the trcuks were sold. Thats pretty much all that I know, if any one has any more info I'd love to hear it, I can send you a PM with a bit more Info, such as names and locations. I'm very interested in finding more information on this company. I appreciate any info.

iBorg Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 I hope it works for you. If I remember correctly that's where the Ford archives are located. I understand trying to reconnect with your past. My great, great grandfather owned a construction company in Cincinnati, OH. I'd love to find either the concrete stamp or a piece of sidewalk with the Ditchen construction name embedded in it. Mike
