Jared Roach Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Ok guys, got it done, and not happy. This kit fits together so bad, look at the gap in the rear bumper, yea... grill looks like garbage, taillights do too, didn't come with side mirror glass, and the did I already mention FIT ISSUES!!! What I do like about the kit, not much, but it is a different piece of subject material and love my lisence plate I made, it's a nova scotias plate that says "YJ GOAT", came out great, and thats about it. Near the end I got sick of looking at it and just through it together, but what ever, it's been staring at me since december. here it is, almost didn't even want to show it here, but I know some guys were waiting, so here it is: Now on to my Tamyia morris mini, and hopefully it will go together WAY better. Thanks for lookin.
outlaw035 Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 pontiac really missed on this so called new GTO so figures the kit is just as bad...but u did a decent job with it...
RodneyBad Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Not including your fitting issues. It come out looking Good. Like the color and wheels. Nice work.
Eric Stone Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Despite the fit problems, it looks alright. Are those Chrysler 300 wheels? I don't think the ones I've been messing with have had any problems with the rear bumper, but I've been worried about the front. I don't like the kit, but I love the car. I have a feeling these Polar Lights/AMT kits will be the only ones we'll get of this car, unless there's one out there I've missed. Like them or not, these GTOs are great performers, and IMO good looking cars. Bart, I like the Pontiac Rallye wheels on yours too.
RS Sport Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 (edited) Nice paint! Good work. Edited June 8, 2010 by RS Sport
crispy Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Although not a great kit, with some good planning and taking note of the issues you can do something with it. When I built my BOM kit I was pretty happy, but then I learned some things along the way and had the same problems. I'm particularly unhappy with the hood fitment as well as the bad job I did on the front bumper. With all of that I learned some things and new techniques and will apply them to my Blue version soon. Here are the two I built, the Black one was my test run with the Orange supposed to be my detailed build. My blue one will be much better with everything I've learned on these two. Chris
