Here's my buildup of a 1971 promo model of a Vega, which belonged to my dad. It was in terrible shape, so I did what any good modeler would do-customize. I started by taking the body off the detalied(sic) chasis, and installing a shortened polar lights F/C chassis with a custom roll bar. Next I installed the AMT parts pack Allison V12 motor, painted to millitary specs. Paying tribute to the original, I left the majority of the paint the original molded blue.

Very nice model and very good model choice! Vegas, Monzas, Skyhawks, Starfires... were very popular drag cars on the seventies. Maybe because they all were light but with big engine they gone fast! Great build, nicely those decals are on the body and very good detailing all over. That Allison V12 is very nasty, I have it too... But in my garage there is one '79 Skyhawk project so that's why these are interesting!
