Guest zebm1 Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Year, Make and model....and then...whose racer was this and what race did it place 10th in? look closely in tha floorboards, yall will see something unusual..
BIGTRUCK Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 1950 Cadillac Series 61 DeVille LeMans Coupe...you left the web site in the upper left...and tried to lure me to the floor boards...
MonoPed Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Didn't Briggs Cunningham drive that Caddy at LeMans?
62rebel Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 in the floorboards (since my server is BLIND) are there hinged covers with cables attached? if so, they are there to allow the driver to inspect the tread at speed! some crew chiefs added photo strobe lights to flash on the tires to "freeze" them visually so the driver could determine when to pit next. as for the rears, the driver had to assume they were doing as well as the fronts!!!
Guest zebm1 Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Nope Curt, what's there is a clutch pedal for a stick-shift Caddy and no it ain't no stock car racer. Briggs did drive a special-built, all aluminum Caddy called tha LeManstre, but he finished 11th in tha 1950 LeMans. This car, tha stocker finished 10th. Can yu imagine, these monsters racing for 24 hrs and finishing!...oh and BTW....Briggs and his mechanics had heat sensors for tha brakes, trans and rear axles. Way ahead of his time was that Cunningham. Zeb
