Lyle Willits Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 I wanted to model a medium priced custom bike that one might see on the road or at a local bike show. Both fenders are skirted and the tank is sculptured. The pipes were modified and painted with Duplicolor Metalcast gray. Scratchbuilt mirrors with chrome mylar faces. S&S carb and aircleaner from Replicas & Miniatures Co. of Md. Fender supports were scratchbuilt. Tailights and front turn signal lights came from 4 kits. Actually, it isn't really finished - I'm waiting for the primary drive with clutch and pully detail from Reps & Mins. Thanks for looking.
Daniel Peterson Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Having seen your recent bike builds, including this one, I honestly can say pictures (even good ones like these) don't do them justice!
Lyle Willits Posted January 28, 2007 Author Posted January 28, 2007 Cut the fork pivot off. Drill a hole through the bottom of the lower tripletree so that you can insert a plastic or aluminum rod during final assembly. Cut the new rod to a length that doesn't stick out the bottom so it can't be seen. When the bike is assembled, you won't see the hole/rod,,,,uh,,,,unless you display your bikes upside down
ismaelg Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Cool Bike Lyle! I bow to the chopper King! I like all your chopper builds.
Matt T. Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Yawn. Just another bike from Lyle. Looking forward to checking out your stable-full of bikes in Joisey this March! The "Motorcycles" class is going to be packed, I think!
