Revell Nostalgic funny car body height

I have been reading various threads on here about Revell's Nostalgic funny cars that the body height is wrong and that people do simple mods to correct it.

I have searched the best i can through the boards i not found any reference.

Please could some tell me how its done as i want to correct the ride height on my Gene Snow funny car before i start the paint process.
