brett Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 cause its not quite stock but not what I would call custom. Pretty much box stock using the 409 other than that some nice rough cast spoked cragars(?) with molded on valve stems and some big resin brakes out back. Color is pearl white and it will have the roof and scallops the same color as the aircleaner. pay no attention to the motor on the back
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Great start, Brett. I like the color combo choice.
brett Posted July 12, 2010 Author Posted July 12, 2010 Thanks Kevin, well since you last seen this its been for a swim in the easy off ocean as it appears my BMF was stickier than my paint ( the paint turned out so well that I foiled it a bit too soon I think and before clearing and whel pulling off the excess pulled off some paint). Not a happy camper. But back in pearl white with roof and hood colored ,will leave a couple more days then paint the scallops on the sides
MikeeD Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 (edited) Sweet Elky...love it.... But...FYI...those aren't Cragars, they are American Racing Torque Thrusters Also..hey, my folks are from Auckland, so I'm kinda partial to Kiwi's.... Edited July 12, 2010 by MikeeD
Harold Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Looking good. I really like the work you did on the chassis. Can't wait to see it done.
Hornistfuller Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I have always wanted to buid one of these elkys as a shop truck with a rusty old model a body and a pair of frame rails in the back, being taken back to the shop to be hotrodded.
Railfreak78 Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Nice start to a car/truck I love! I actually watched an idiot kid pull a dumb and dumber movie scene by backing up with the door open and hit something and bend the door almost to the fender. I wish I could have taken it and told him he does not deserve it. Any hoot Nice colors too.
brett Posted July 17, 2010 Author Posted July 17, 2010 Thanks Mike ,doh. Got it foiled today and re scalloped and recleared so on the home stretch now ]
Dr. Cranky Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Wonderful job on the paint, and I love the cargo engine!
