A question/suggestion for Gregg.

I've noticed something that seems to relate to a complaint from some of tha folks Gregg. About how the postings seem to run off tha page to tha right. It is most noticable after someone posts a larger than "normal" picture, all subseequent posts remain as large, or as Hucklberry Hound used to say, "Exit Stage right." :roll:

I'm wondering ifn yu can't put an automatic image resizer mod in yur program to limit tha extra large pics sizes Gregg. Perhaps some of these photographer/puter geeks/website denizens might be able to give yu a clue as to how, as Jean luc Piccard would say --"Make it so."

Photobucket limits tha size in their web site, although when yu post them to here, they do return to original size, and it looks like tha other photo websites do tha same. 8)

Good rule of thumb if you do your own resizing of pictures is:

9 inches wide at 72 dpi!

Other than that, most guys are not able to resize the pictures so they need to set their cameras for standard resolution setting or SQL.

Zeb, software costs money and any program that resizes the pictures would have to operate whenever the page is opened because the original picture would still remain the large size on the server inwhich it is stored. So, each time the page is opened it would take longer for it to be displayed as the resizing program did its work. Might be only a second or two for each pic but what if they posted a lot of pictures.....

Gregg has a picture hosting program. But it got overwrote when he loaded the last forum updates and now needs to be re-installed before the users can play with it again.

If you use Internet Explorer, there is an option for automatic image resizing which allows you to expand the image to full scale on your own.

I wasn't talking about spending money J. I use free stuf on tha web, depend on my "hacker" friends, tha "original definition of hackers", got mah degree in pukers back in '77, long before King Gates got his "rainy" dream of empire. :twisted: I'll send a query to Happy Hackers, see what I ken scare up. :wink:

Scale Auto's board does that. If you want to live in a world where the board is ruled by people who don't know how to run a board...Go there. It's one of the main reasons I don't post there. The entire board should not be punished because of some people whining about picture size.

This board is fine the way it is. I've only seen one side scroller thread and that had nothing to do with the picture.

This is something I feel very strongly about....Obviously..

T'was just a suggestion fellas. I changed my sizes, as per previous suggestions and still occasionally scroll waaay out to tha right. :roll:

And Anthony, I'm sure yur correct......I remembered tha character dancing to tha right with a Vaudeville cane......but couldn't remember tha character's name, thanks Anthony.
