loghauler70 Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Here is my latest in progress. It is a Peterbilt 367 from P&P resins. It has scratch built frame rails and lift axle. I built it after a 2008 model that I saw at the Oregon logging conference and then later in a DSU peterbilt add in My little salesman. Mark
highway Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 That looks wonderful! What size C Channel did you use for the frame?
daniel gailloux Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 That looks wonderful! What size C Channel did you use for the frame? Hello Mathiew Seems to me he scatchbuilt the chanel. He probably used the same technique I do to prepare my frame chanels. I cut a stip of styrene the height of the channel and glue a upper and lower stip of evergreen on the strip to make the channel. I have attached 2 photos showing this technique. Once the upper and lower evergreen stips are well glued I use a file and round the corners to make it look like the real frame rails. Hope this helps. Best regards Daniel Gailloux
daniel gailloux Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Hello Mathew Last post the attached photo did not show so I am retrying to see if it will work this time. I forgot a step when selecting the file. Now they are attached. Daniel Gailloux
loghauler70 Posted July 21, 2010 Author Posted July 21, 2010 Hello Thanks for the kind words. Ya you are kinda right on the frame. I used Evergreen 351 for the rail and 256 for the flanges. Mark
highway Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Thanks for the info and the numbers, Mark. Thank you, too, Daniel, for showing the technique. That should make my next long frame truck much easier.
