53John Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 (edited) Hello----new to this site and have a few questions. I have a few pictures for a gallery, what size do they need to be. Also I am starting the 1/25 AMT '49 Ford coupe and need some paint color info, basic stuff-engine color, frame colors etc. What forum do I go to for that kind of info. Most of my builds are NASCAR, Hot Rods, and Muscle Cars. I started way back in the early 60's with the good old AMT 3 in 1 kits. The good old days of hammerin the rims onto the metal axel, broke many a rim that way. ---John Edited August 2, 2010 by 53John
Jon Cole Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 If you use a photo hosting service, the photos are resized automatically. I use Fotki, but many here use Photobucket.
jeffs396 Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Welcome John! There is a 1:1 reference section here that may help you in your search...if not, Google is your friend! http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showforum=14
Swifster Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Hi John, I'm new here myself. The best place for choices on exterior colors is Auto Color Library. I'm not sure if it's listed in the 1:1 section or not. Many of the Ford 1:1 parts vendors, such as Mac's Antique Auto Parts will have the actual paint for the engine (I believe it's bronze). The frames are probably semi-gloss black like everyone elses. There are a lot sites dedicated to Ford on the web. Hope this helps.

Railfreak78 Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Welcome to the club John. Hey Tom thanks for that auto color link
The Modeling Hermit Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 (edited) Welcome John. I had a 50 Ford for a short time many years ago, and the frame on it was rust colored, but then so was the rest of the car. The others have given good feedback, and the only thing that I can add, is that I use Photobucket, and have been well pleased with it. Edited August 3, 2010 by Kodiak Island Modeler
