This is my custom 1968 Charger by Revell. It has the racing shifter and racing hood.

Nice job! I'm about to start on the same kit, thanks for the heads up on the fit issue.

What fit issue? If you are talking about the engine then yes I used the racing hood because the air cleaner push up the stock hood.

But anyhow I hope your Charger is a smooth, clean build. Mine was'nt. Good Luck! B)

Nice colour combination there, Brandon!

Pictures - Indoors, use a support for the camera, and use the macro setting if it has one. You can see where the picture becomes in focus in your pictures - you may need to move the camera away a bit more, and crop it on the computer. Just a couple of things I've learned! I even use the timer so the picture is taken a few seconds after I hit the shutter button so there is no shake with it on a tripod. You can make an inexpensive photo booth for indoors, or take pictures outside, weather permitting. A friend uses the top of his garbage can as a base, and has the street behind it which is out of focus - neat effect!

You asked for comments, so I am offering advise to help you out on your next build based on what I can see the most from the mostly blurry pictures. Please, take it in the spirit of one car modeller trying to help another improve their skills.

I see on your model that there is what looks like glue in the middle of the windshield. I've done it, by mistake, and here is what I do to try to minimize that happening. 1-I use Elmer's white glue if the window fits well. If it doesn't I try to use a bit of either 5 minute epoxy or Tenax on the cross bar that goes on the headliner, then use the white glue around the edge of the windows. If glue gets on it, it can be wiped off with water after it dries. If the window fits from outside, I run a bead of glue around where the window connects with the body, put the window in place, and use low tack masking tape to hold it.

2-clean, dry hands, and nothing else around on the work area that could be knocked over. If you do get something on your hands, clean them before touching the glass.

3-Once glued in place, leave it overnight to dry, or put the interior and chassis in place loose (no glue) to keep the windows in place until the glue dries.

4-Use a q-tip with water to clean up any dried glue, and wipe with a piece of wet t-shirt, then dry t-shirt.

5-I have also used clear Tamiya bottle paint to hold the windows in place, but only if they fit very tightly into the body. It's great for clear headlight lenses, and taillight lenses, too.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

The hood not closing 0 I read that that is an issue with the kit, and can be dealt with like you did, or the carburetor, and/or intake manifold can be sanded or filed down to fit. This is where it helps to dry fit some assemblies together to look for issues.

Wheels - The chrome is unrealistic that comes in kits. Look for pictures online of the wheel you are making, and match the colours and look. the Magnum 500 wheels, are usually a silver colour, with black in the recessed areas, and can have a bright chrome outer ring. There are ways of doing this detail that take practice. You could paint the black first, let it dry, then paint the silver, as an example.

Tires - sand the tread of the tires a bit to take the shine off the tread, like the tire has rolled on pavement.

Just a couple of quick tips for you. I am no expert, and I'm just offering what I do as an example. I'm sure that others may have a better way of doing things that may work better for you. I've been building for many years, and am still learning new ways to build models, and new tricks to make them look a bit more realistic. Take care, and have fun!

I like the white top on your Charger, by the way. :D

Sorry I got a little long winded there!!

Hey Brandon, no problem. I hope they were helpful!

Nice engine. The first picture was blurry, the 2nd was perfect!

I like the engine stand - did that come with the kit?

Have fun building!
