59 Impala Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Well guys, I kinda snuck this one in. One of the guys in our club was going to throw this away because it is a horrible kit. Weeeeellllll, I said, don't throw it away, make a speed car out of it and he said, here, you make it. Sooooooo, here it is. It's a 1/72nd scale jet and I forget who made it. I don't reconize the name of the kit at all. Off the wall from overseas I think. Anyway, I had fun doing this. The name on the tail is for Walt Arfons. Now I have Walt, Art Arfons, Craig Breedlove and Mickey Thompson cars. Plus four others with no name attached to them. Well, the 53 Studebaker is Mr. Speed and the Corsair has What If on the side. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
Eric Stone Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Is it an Airfix kit? I have one of those, in a black box with a pic of the built kit on it. 1/72 scale, very basic... I found a few at a dollar store somewhere once, had 1/72 Mustang, Zero, A4 Skyhawk, T38, and 1/48 Spitfire and ME109, can't remember if there were any others. I started messing with the Mustang for the race plane build, and have planned on doing the T38 as one of the NASA planes I see flying around here on a regular basis. I hadn't thought of doing a LSR car out of one... Cool idea. I like it.
bsoder Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Looks great Dan!..and the best way to "recycle" a throw away kit
59 Impala Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 Thanks guys. I'll try and find out what kit this is. It's not the Airfix kit. It's a name that I haven't heard of before. Dan

59 Impala Posted August 6, 2010 Author Posted August 6, 2010 It's not a bad kit, it's just not a good kit... Yep, and I didn't think it needed to be thrown away. One mans trash is anothers treasure I guess. Dan
