I'm also not familiar with some of the typical jargon you guys use: like I just found out this a.m. about LHS from the general forum. thx. Mike for asking the ques. for me as well, and thx for the ans. of course. I have no local Hobby supplier anywhere near. Need to run to Sandpoint Idaho or Spokane Wa. for that!!
MrObsessive Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Hi Manfred and welcome to the board! GSL, or its full acronym GSLMCC, stands for the Greater Salt Lake Model Car Championship. It's the premier show/contest in the country!! You'll have guys from all over the world show up there to compete, and the very best of the best will have models there. Mark Gustavson runs it and there'll be a show sometime in May. Unfortunately, I can't make it this year (just bought a house in October) and I don't have the vacation time. The show comes up every 2 years, so the next one will be 2009.............if you ever get there, you'll have the time of your life as every model is first class! There's not a glue bomb to be seen! I don't know how Mark does it as far as judging.............a very difficult task with all the excellent builds one will see there! Edit: Click here to find out more!

I don't know Bill, they let me enter my stuff in the contest!
bob paeth Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Yeh, Bill and while they are looking at Mikes entries, I slip mine in. Then I hide Marks glasses. BTW, you forgot the "I" in the title. It is GSLIMCC. The "I" stands for "international" I did enter a model about 15 years ago that was almost a "glue bomb". Took 4th place with it too ( of course there were only 5 entered in the class ) But, it is the best that I have done so far. Heh heh heh bob
Steve H. Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 I don't know Bill, they let me enter my stuff in the contest! Mine too... But I think its just to make everyone else look better! Seriously, you'll never attend a more fun model event. Its a jam packed four days of model overload!
simonr Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 I also higly recommend this event. It's not only the kind of models you will see there, if not, the kind of great people that gathers there. It's like, everyone there want to be you best friend. Everyone there want to share anything that can help you. I was there in the 2005 event and was so imressed that will return this year. See you guys there! Simon
