Nice work Doug. I take it your going for the early FLC look with the headlights on the grille like a 359 Pete?

Yes sir, I'm going for the early look with the henderson paint job(decals).

Nice progress so far! Keep us posted.

I like this kit very much, and in a few weeks I will hit two or three of them.

Is this kit in white plastic the just released from ITALERI?

If so I like that ITALERI uses white plastic more often.

Doug,

This is a superb project. Very Impressive. The Freightshakers from the 1970's with the headlights fitted to the grill are my favourite model Freightliner conventional. Was this model still being built when they dropped the White from the name? Did I read somewhere that there was a photoetch grill available for this? Or is old age creeping in?

The round headlights were available into the mid 80s on both cabovers and conventionals from Freightliner. The White name was dropped in 1977. The photoetch you may be thinking of for this kit was available Replicas and Miniatures Co of Maryland. It was a nice set. It was just the Freightliner nameplates, though. I hope they bring those back. I have a set but I can't find them. Now there is a Freightliner photoetch grille available for cabovers from Modelltrucks and Parts in Austria. It, too, is a very nice set. It includes the AMT single bar grille and the 1973 and up 2 bar grille.

Looks awesome wher did you get the brake valves and things to plumb your brakes?

The valves I resin casted from the AMT tanker kit and the lines are from telephone wire!

Saweeet! I see you bought some of the ten holes I mastered from Jamie. They'll make a big difference in the overall appearance!!!! Are you going to have them chrome plated or shot with Alclad? They look great either way! Did you get some different drive tires from Jamie? He has some that fit those wheels, really nice!
