Next project on the bench, hoping to be finished in time for NNL Nationals. Not gonna go too crazy just nice and clean. This is my inspiration "Born in East L.A."

I'm feeling testors purplicous with all chrome 1109s, possible chrome spokes and purple dishes.

These are the kind of low riders I like. Restored nicely and the wheels sit inside the wheel wells. Your inspiration car has something I've never seen before. I have never seen a low rider with a billet grille. Interesting project.

I have enough spare kit bumpers to try the full width billet, if it doesn't work I will just do a billet grill.

Thanks for keeping the LoLo classic builds on the forum.

I admire the hard work that goes into the paint alone.

BTW ...straight lace Daytons Rock!

When I saw the picture of the 76 low rider model you had on your bench I thought "Hmm, looks more like an 86 or 87". Then I saw the pictures of the car you're building. Boy is my face red! Good luck with whatever you are working on.

Hey, cool paint job! What brand did you use? I have some HoK purple metallic/flake that I plan to use on something......I also have a Caprice project in the works. Someday I'll get that one going again :(

Update time, gonna be a curbside car, I don't like how outdated this it is.

Started the grill, tried to use plastic strip but it was to thick, so I'm using spare photoetch sprues

Paint looks amazing, did I miss what kind of clear you use?

testors wet look clear

Very cool Phil, you are getting better and better with your paints!!! :D

thanks man, honestly the roof has the best shine. I'm no too thrilled with the testors clear, but its all I had on hand, for the most part its even but a few spots I was nervous about burning through.
