Hey guys, my name is Landon and I'm new to the forum. When I was scouring the internet searching for my next model ( Italeris Re-Release of the Freightliner FLC) I ran into this site a few days ago. It's nice to see a group of people who have the same interest as me. Until November of 09 I had not touched a model in probably 11 years. I saw the re-release of the White Freightliner Dual Drive Tractor and thought what the hay we'll try it and it turned out to be addictive haha. Anyways I see everyone putting pictures of their rides and rigs up and thought I'd show off my two favorites. Now bear with me I'm not near as advanced in skills such as most.. but with a little time I could get close. Besides I have a blast tinkering and building them and I guess thats the important part. Most of the inspiration comes from riding with my father who hauls bulk potatoes for a chip company. So here you go my White Freightshaker with hand painted striping and a matching great dane with stainless front.. it's modeled after my fathers truck he had in the 70's minus the bumper and visor dropped.

I just noticed that the one light is not painted on the roof.. not sure how I missed that

Now this truck is alittle more popular. Some may have seen it on a show back in the 70's. it was called Movin' On? haha

I put alittle more time and effort into this one because I had to plan it every step of the way.. I used a Revell/Germany KW W900 and hacked the frame section off right in front of the cab so that I could attach a shorter section of frame for a shorter hood. I snagged a set of the old AMT two piece rims because the one in the show had those type. Actually the wheels and the decals were from a kit my brother had yeaarss ago and never used them. Enjoy

Still hooked to that great dane 40 footer

Anyways any comments are welcome any and all tips to a newbie would be great because the new model should be here tomorrow.. I'm having trouble deciding to go box stock or get some ambition and stretch the frame and do some more advanced modifications

Ok hey thanx so much im kind of anxious to get it and lay it all out and see what im getting into.. since i ordered it ive pondered what to do with it.. there was a guy who ran with my dad for many many years in a truck like this he passed away a few years ago and the thought crossed my mind to stretch the frame alittle and scratch build a 60 inch stand up sleeper for it. They were a tall boxy looking sleeper and he had a two piece air foiler on top of the truck.. i thought about using his truck as my reference and building a memorial.. or i could go crazy and make a tricked up freightshaker with 8 inch big bores.. who knows.. The POSSIBILITIES AHH.. :D

Also thanks for the comments everyone.. like i said i hope to build my skills and have some good builds..

If you wish to build it with a 60" sleeper, see if you can find the sleeper from the Italeri FLD kit. It's a 60" Freightliner sleeper(Your kit comes with a 40" sleeper). You will need to make it taller, to get the sleeper you're describing, but the length is right. I'll have to get the height measurement (that sleeper is on my "to do" list as well).
