DaytonaTim Posted October 3, 2010 Author Posted October 3, 2010 Well, this weekend I have gotten a lot of work done. I got the main part of the motor assembled and I got most of the interior items mounted up in the aluminium tub. So I decided it was time for 3 of the 4 main sub-assemblies to come together. I have not adjusted the ride height of the chassis yet, that is why the rearend is hanging a little low. Here are a few pics.
comp1839 Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 tim, looks incredable!!!! you guys have certainly outdone yourselves. the motor, the interior, the chassis, wheels and tires. just amazing work. the tin work really helps finish it off!

DaytonaTim Posted October 3, 2010 Author Posted October 3, 2010 Thanks guys. Boy, I have to say....everything is a tight fit. That is one big honking motor for that little car. We should be getting some pictures of the master body plug sometime this week. It will be nice to get all the pieces of this puzzel together this coming weekend.
Ferrari-Cobra Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Tim, Nice work, the detailing looks great! David
LR3 Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Once the aluminum is bent to shape does it require any type of bonding (ie. solder) to maintain shape or position?
DaytonaTim Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 Once the aluminum is bent to shape does it require any type of bonding (ie. solder) to maintain shape or position? Hey Syd, all the individual parts are designed with 1/8" flanges that are used to glue the panels together. What I did was I used a combination of superglue and 5 minute epoxy. They were both applied at the same time, the super glue gives me an instant bond to hold things together long enough for the epoxy to set. So far I have had no problems witht he glue joints holding, they seem quite strong. Tim
