I found out today that Carol at The Modelhaus broke her leg yesterday, it sounds pretty bad as she says it needs to be pinned and they can't do that until Fri after the swelling's gone down. I don't know them personally, I was just checking on an order I had placed, I thought those of you who know them better than I do would like to know.

Thanks for the heads up.. we'll remember Don and Carol in our prayers here and our wishes are for a speedy and totally complete recovery for her. I was about to place an oprder but I think I'll hold off - they don't need a huge backlog of orders right now I am thinking.. Sure hope she's OK.. :P:lol::lol:

I'll second what Gary said. Prayers and well wishes going out to you and your family from here. I encourage anybody who has orders waiting from them to be patient, as this will set them back some.

Thoughts & prayers go out to Carol. I've been lucky enough to be taken a tour of the business by Don & Carol. As I'm only 32 miles away and picked up orders in person. He has came to our club meeting before (Central Illinois Scale Auto Builders). They are great people. :)

Thank you for the information, Brett. I do know and speak with Don and Carol on a frequent basis. Don utilizes me as one of his Chrysler Corporation Technical Advisor's due to my past with the Corporation. In Carol's own words "The X-Rays show it may only need to be set and put in a cast. We are continuing business. Things will slow down, but I've been in the shop each day and am doing some shipping today. Just takes longer than usual-moving around with crutches rather than walking to get what I need. I really don't think customers have delayed placing orders (and hope that they don't start to!) We got more web orders yesterday than usual. Carol, The Modelhaus."

Sounds as though Carol's possibility thinking/attitude will prevail here and everyone can continue to place orders and receive them in their normal 6 weeks from receiving the order. They also have their son working with them....I'm sure he's (and Don) stepping up to assist her. ;) Fury3

OUCH!

That's very sad news. I hope her recovery is fast and full. The Modelhaus has become a true staple of this hobby and I'm happy to see any disruption will be minimal and temporary.

Hello all.

Yes this is very sad news, I would not wish that on anyone, I hope that everything goes well for her. I don't know her personally, so I am sure that this halting buisness for them, still an injury like this is never a good thing.

Glad to hear she won't need surgery. I just healed from a broken ankle this past winter... no fun! Doc said I will "be aware" of the ankle long after it heals... maybe a year or more. The doc was right. I hope Carol heals, and puts no pressure on that ankle!

Yeah, I got from reading her email to me that once she got it pinned or set that she could get back to moving around and helping with orders, she didn't say it would delay anything with my order.
