Hawk312 Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 I am looking for wheels like these: More here: http://www.80sfunnycars.com/80s%20Funny%20Cars%20-The%20West%20Coast.htm I know Revell has something similar in the Gene Snow "Snowman" Vega, Don "The Snake" Prudhomme's ARMY, and the Blue Max funny car kits, but the wheels and tires in them appear out of scale and are very unconvincing IMO. I`ve been unsuccessful in finding these in the aftermarket. Any ideas?
Hondo Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 (edited) The wheels you speak of in the Revell kits are Cragar Super Trick wheels. You can get them (& tires) from Comp Resins, also from Slixx. Part # CRC-014 http://www.ecsvr.com/slx/shopdisplayproducts.asp?page=2 The wheels in your picture here are NOT these wheels. They may be Centerlines. Not sure if you can get those in aftermarket. Edited September 27, 2010 by Hondo
Hawk312 Posted September 27, 2010 Author Posted September 27, 2010 Thanks guys! Hondo, Those rear wheels are very close to what I am looking for. I think I may give them a try. They are much better then the ones in the kits I mentioned from the looks of t. the old Monogram flip-front Chevelle, the black one that's been re-issued to death also has a set of front and rear Super Tricks but they are 1/24 scale. they do fit the Monogram pro stock and top fuel funny car Goodyears though. Is this the kit you are talking about: http://cgi.ebay.com/Malibu-SS-1966-Revell-Chevelle-Nova-Model-NEW-Sealed-/150474971911?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item230901db07 Sorry for my ignorance on the subject guys. I was just recently inspired to build some of the old funny cars.
Hawk312 Posted September 28, 2010 Author Posted September 28, 2010 Thanks again guys! Those were exactly what I was looking for. Now to get the `66 Chevelle kit somehow. DoubleD...you mentioned those wheels were in different kits with different offsets. Do you happen to remember any other kits that they were in? Thanks.
