G'day guys- I am interested to hear from people outside of Canada and the US who have tracked down replacement items through Revell's customer service.

I searched the site without luck, and when filling out the order form there is no option to ship to Australia. I have emailed Revell and am hoping something can be worked out.

The part in question is the front windshield which has cracked from both top corner inwards (pretty hard to disguise :D The clear tree containing the part is still sealed in the original bag. If I had to guess I would say that it was crushed beneath the other sprues in packing. I guess that's another lesson learnt- inspect the sprues before you begin! I only noticed it because I went looking for the decal sheet.

Bugger. I'll be shattered (har har) if I can't get something sorted.

G,day mick , i tried awhile ago about parts and was told to take the model back to place of purchase and exchange it for another .I then done a deal with the place for the kit i returned and paid what he paid for it .

Whoops- might be a bit late for that... and I don't really fancy paying another $40 for a windshield and some parts I may never use. Worst case I'll try and bluff my way into hiding the cracks.

Thanks for the reply.

Mate it's for the Revell 57 Chev Black Widow 2 in 1 one Special Edition.

If you could help at all that would be awesome!

Just to keep everyone posted, today Irecieved a email from Revell asking for photos of the damaged item and a few scans from the instructions along with a barcode. From the sounds of things they'll be placing a replacement in the post shortly.

Great service and very surprised, impressed and relieved that I don't have to struggle to track down a replacement.

Good show!

Apologies for the resurrection of an old thread but I think credit should be shared where credit is due.

I recieved the part in the mail yesterday- safely boxed and in perfect condition.

Big thanks to Revell for making it happen!! I was sure to forward a thank you email to the person who helped me through.

Something to keep in mind for Australian modellers- it looks like we too can use this excellent service.

Funny thing is I just got my Parts for my '49 mercury yesterday too, I just followed link provided here, and set up an account then inputed all of the codes then waited for about two weeks. All the replacement windows I needed were safely delivered in one nice litte box, free of charge.

Okay the link that was here is gone, but I have it saved back.

I dealt with Angie about a cracked body on one of the Streetburner kits, (my fault, dropped and stepped on carrying in from garage) replacement went smooth as silk, and no hassle at all, you can tell she wants to help. Just a real joy to have in the hobby, if she can make it happen, she will!!

Yup- it was Angie. I was sure to send her an email thanking her for the efforts- it's the very least I could do.

That kind of service is absolutely worth it's weight in gold.
