I've had this Henry J body for a long time now, and havent been able to decide what I want to do with it. Until this weekend that is. Cleaning out some parts boxes and sorting stuff into the parts bin, I came across a bunch of 69 roadster vette parts. My plan is to build this J into a non traditional gasser with IFS and IRS. The rest should be pretty standard gasser era parts and bits. This is also my first building thread so please, be gentile.

After a little surgery the frame cleaned up pretty nice. With a little file and sand work it should mate to the J's floor pan just fine . It scares me at how easy it was to make the frame fit the pan and how close the wheel base is with out changing anything so far...lol

After a little more hacking and sanding, I got the frame to sit just about right on the floor pan I have the suspension mocked up, but I can see that I will need to bring the rear crossmember off the pan a little to keep the tires from rubbing. This is probly the wheel/ tire combo I will be useing. not much room for a slick back there anymore. I've been thnking about engine options, a hemi is just to obvious, all I have left of the kit ford cammer engine is the chrome tree. But thumbing through the "gasser wars" book (witch is great by the way) I seen a picture of a willys running two turbos into a chevy injection plenum. Think that might be where I'm going with this. It was done in the sixtys so its still old school right ??...lol. I'm not really hard core enough to be buying resin parts yet, so ill probly use the turbo from the (revell I think) 56 chevy.

u should put a viper motor or newer hemi in it

I thought about the v10, but its a pretty small car, with not much room stern to bow. I had'nt thought about the new hami though, but to be honest, it isnt much to look at.

Thanks for the ideas though

I've also been thinking about a 409, seem to have a few of those for some reason. Possibly blown with stacks. I love that engine, but always thought of it as an open fender style engine.
