Jordan White Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Finally got my kit and wheels to start this build! Plans are basically to build it factory stock with a set of Camaro IROC wheels. I'll be straying away from stock in two spots (besides the wheels of course ) : I'll be fabricating a custom ram-air intake and the body will be painted a bright red, similar to the Marlboro version (though I will be using the Marlboro-based side and hood decals.)
Nick Winter Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Hey Jordan long time no see, I finished the writing and built another hitch, also great choice in build, anything GMC is great in my book.

Haha yeah, it's been a while! My Chevy stepside sort of stalled out and is yet to be finished, but I did build a similar hitch for my Ford Dually build.

Jordan White Posted October 10, 2010 Author Posted October 10, 2010 Got started this weekend. Chassis painted and gas tank installed: 3/4 of the engine completed: Painted the spokes of the wheels white: Wheels with disc brakes I also got the body kit glued on the body, and I've been modifying the exhaust manifold where the turbo attaches, since on the 1:1 it has a square attachment whereas the kit has a round attachment to the wrong style manifold.
Jordan White Posted October 17, 2010 Author Posted October 17, 2010 Got some more done this weekend. Completed interior: Practically completed chassis:
Railfreak78 Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Nice work work so far. I have always loved the boxy style S-10 and GMC S-15 styles. The Syclone was out of this world and the Typoon. Syclone actually beat a Ferrari Testarossa on an oval track in one of the old magazines. I'm watching
Jordan White Posted October 18, 2010 Author Posted October 18, 2010 Yup, I believe you're thinking of the article that Car and Driver did. I'm also a fan of the boxy S-10s/Blazers, especially the S-10 Baja and Blazer High Country.
Jared Roach Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Looking good man! Makes me want to start on mine again. I love all s-series, 1st and 2nd gens. I had a chance to get a baja s10 for $400 Canadian, but had to pass because I had no money and didn't have a way of getting it home because it didn't run. But the baja parts alone are worth more then that. But anyways, can't wait to see it done.
Jordan White Posted October 18, 2010 Author Posted October 18, 2010 What you can't really see in the pictures is I also made a remote oil filter attachment for the engine, and you can see the hoses laying in the chassis next to the engine. The oil filter gets mounted on the radiator core support. If you didn't know already, it was like this from factory since the front differential and driveshaft used the space normally used by the oil filter on the engine, since the truck was so low.
Jordan White Posted November 26, 2010 Author Posted November 26, 2010 Well golly gee I actually finished this one, which is now posted in the Under Glass area.
