old-hermit Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 That's right, I built it in 7 hours. My local model club decided to have a 'club build'. Any pre '49 street rod. I HATE club projects so I did it the next day to get it over with and back to goofing off. It's nothing fancy and no extra details. Parts box wheels, tires, headers, carbs and air cleaner. Build pics here ... http://public.fotki.com/old-hermits-garage/25th-scale-cars/29-roadster/

No offense to your club... but if the club is telling you how, when, and what to build...is it still really your hobby?
Space Cowboy Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Great looking rod.. If you keep doing them that fast you going to end up building like me ha ha..
davyou5 Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Well disspite Club antics, for a seven hour build that thing looks great .
old-hermit Posted October 14, 2010 Author Posted October 14, 2010 Thanks for the compliments guys, it was fun. No offense to your club... but if the club is telling you how, when, and what to build...is it still really your hobby? Good point Harry. We only do club projects once or twice a year and the project is voted on by the members. Majority rules ya know. Members don't have to participate but all usually do. It's good for a few chuckles too at the unveiling because we have a couple of twisted individuals who come up with of some very off the wall builds.
Scalper Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Nice "Get out of the way" project. Pretty Clean for 7 hours very nice.
W-409 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 7 hours!!! That's very great for built in 7 hours, it takes almost an year from me to build model car... This is fast build. Paintjob loks nice and engine is very good, of course it's not so well detailed, but for 7 hours build it's amazing!
runsw/scissors Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 we don't have any clubs in my area, so i doen;t have to endure those club builds. seven hours is pretty darn good if you ask me. I'd still be just looking at parts, trying to decide what to do first after seven hours.
