Iwas showing a friend the resin 1961 Falcon I built for my sweetie, when he brought up the fact that I'd mastered several resin kits, and have yet to build any of them. Of all the kits I've mastered so far this is the one I like the best, Ironicly this also was the one done the quickest. I saw the photos from SEMA just before dinner, and 4 hours later I had the finished body ready to be sent off to cast.

I'm still deciding on the color but It doesn't matter I ordered one of each color decals from Kieth Marks so that any color I pick I have decals for. because of all the small openings in the body, it actually took me longer to trim the flash and get it ready to paint than it took to do the original conversion.

Looks really good.

did that start out as the GT-40?

Yes it started as the 2007 Ford GT which came from the factory as a coupe only, but an aftermarket firm converted them into roadsters.

Well Darin, its about time you got into this one. I remember, like three years ago, when you created the master for this great looking roadster. What have you been waiting for? P.S., as for a color choice, and this is just me thinking out loud, I think a lighter color, rather than darker....I did mine in a dark color and it really doesn't "jump out" as it would if it were lighter.....just saying. :)

I got this back from the caster about a month before I went up to visit my sweetie in northern NY, and while I was up there she was diagnosed with cancer, so I stayed to take care of her, until we could move her and our daughter to TN with me. so this sat collecting dust until I got back to building a few months ago. I remember your build, it was very nice, but I think you are right it would really "pop" with a lighter color. I think I'm going to go with the Grabber orange in the pictures of the SEMA car in the pics above.

Yes, now I remember, how is she doing? Better I hope. :) Yeah, that orange would look great....go get 'em.

We're currently seeking clinical trials at Johns Hopkins in maryland. the last three attemts at Chemo and radiation appears not to have worked, as the cancer continues to spread. At this point the best we can hope for is a temporary remission, or at least slowing the growth or spread of the cancer to buy her more time. She's staying up there with a doctor friend of hers, while I comute back and forth from TN to MD so that I can work, take care of her there, and take care of our 15 year old daughter here. Of course any prayers from the members here would be of great help.

DB , looking good buddy

Just an FYI to all , Keith Marks did the decals for these GTX-1's & they are awesome ( as usual )

Been on the phone this past week w/ Keith discussing many fresh new decal projects to accompany / complement our fresh new body / trans kits ... 68 / 69 & 70 Javelins along w/ a few other misc looks for the AMC cars

Build ON !

Great news for your wife-on the trials, I mean. She'll be in everyone's thoughts. Miracles can happen. While I do not get along with you personally, I hope for the best for you and your family outside of this forum.

Thank you Mark. A miracle is what we're hoping for.
