clayton Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 (edited) Spent the weekend working on this. I used the low boy for a base and the rest is from flat sheet. Rite now the landing leg's are the hold up,trying to get them even and working is the hard part and my head hurts as well. Edited October 27, 2010 by clayton
Jim B Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 (edited) Oooo! Oooo! Ooo! Mr. Kotter! Mr. Kotter! I know! I Know! That's my Arnold Horshack impersonation. Ok, it wasn't that great. But then again, you told me, so it wouldn't be fair. Edited October 27, 2010 by Jim B

clayton Posted October 29, 2010 Author Posted October 29, 2010 Well got the landing legs on and working. And here is a clue.
Madd Trucker Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Looks to me like it will be a logging trailer . Looks good so far
clayton Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 Looks to me like it will be a logging trailer . Looks good so far Ding,,,ding got it. You know, I spent the last few days look at the trailers around here and most of the time no two are the same. took about 2 hours too make the bolsters??????????(the polls that hold the load)12 parts in all and each one is 1/8"wide.So far I don't think it is a bad job for my first non kit build. in a nut shell I'm eye balling it.
Madd Trucker Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Claytom at times that is what it takes ona build one of the model mags had an artical on makeing one from an ITALERI trailer frame
clayton Posted November 1, 2010 Author Posted November 1, 2010 here is a up date, got the bolsters made, mocked up for placement. next guess the cab guard. I was thinking this would be a short build starting too think it may turn out too be a winter build after all, still lots too do.
clayton Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 Are you going to try and make it look exactly like your reference picture in the 1:1 logging trailer thread? Same color and everything or are you going to change it up a bit? I was trying too,I may have too make a few changes. Like the cab guard I'm having a fit trying to it get rite. This is my first attempt at starch building. The paint not too sure yet red is so common.
disabled modeler Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Looks good Clayton! Keep up the good work!
clayton Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 Nah!! been taking a brake the last few weeks and it's been a bit cool for painting I may do that tomorrow. did get a idea for the cab guard over weekend as well. will keep you posted. Thanks for asking.
clayton Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 Got the paint on.Started with red but nahh then black nope can't really be seen so why not green it's the in color now it may blind in with the woody back ground tho. And got just about done and ran out of primer. I like that trailer looks real good.
clayton Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 Some one post keeps going awal, looks like a w star with a black log trailer and I can't remember who it is?
clayton Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 Did it look like this?? Yep,that's it.
clayton Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 no,I was looking at just before daylight and just before dark or even being in the shade as in black can't be seen. And green as well in the woods as the rite time it is going to blind in with the back ground.
