h3ae86 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 In my opinion this is the best car in the world. I would take this car over Lambos, ferrari's, anything! and honestly I don't know why. maybe because alot of people I know make fun of it. It could be cause it's built like a car should be, just the bare minimum. You're in control, not the car. It isn't a computer on wheels like cars today. I really don't know why I'm so obsessed with these cars but whenever I drive mine and I stomp on the gas I just have chills go up my spine and I fell completely satisfied no matter how bad I feel, and I have yet to drive another car that does that. to say I simply, this is my dream car. now these pictures aren't of my real car but I've tried to get it as close as I can to mine. only real difference is that my car doesn't have watanabes and my interior is completely striped but I do only have one bucket seat in my car. now that I'm done ranting here's the pics of my model. The bumpers aren't glued in because I have more planned for this one. The decals are just stickers i printed off and put on I'd like to put seat belts in but I'm not sure what I could use Now you can go on about how muscle cars are better than tuners but I'll always chose my old eight-six over any car you throw my way. Thanks for looking
tiltawhirl Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 tuners and euros are the way 2 go, i had 89 bmw e30 m3 with a s52 turbo pushing 1000+hp on pump gas. i put all the old muscle car guys in my dust all day long. keep up the good work
Corvette.Jeff Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I know how you feel, it was that way with my 'vette, its the same way when i go off roading in my dually.
Greg Cullinan Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Cool little car and a nice model. Looks good with no chrome.
Guest Sickfish Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 You are kidding yourself, right?? You're going to compare & say you'd rather have this over ANYTHING else in the world?? Are you serious?? Mate ive got a WRX Subaru 07... & as good as it is there's no way in the world I'd knock back a 1969 Dodge Hemi Charger! But hey it's your build/real 1:1 so you're entitled to your opinion... But as far as the other guy saying his car runs 1000hp & he blows away Muscle cars.... Yeh you think his car, your car or mine could blow off a Hemi... Stock?? Don't think so
tiltawhirl Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 (edited) LOL funny old muscle car guys! in join Edited October 30, 2010 by tiltawhirl
Bruno Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 First, nice build! I like those little cars too, even if I don't know much about them. I'll have to build one. Second, people tend to exagerate on HP numbers. I have seen some people, a '68 Camaro owner for example, who claimed he had 550hp, well turns out he saw the tail lights of my 2.2 turbo Daytona Shelby that has 235hp. Now I know my Daytona is lighter than the Camaro, but still, there's no way he had 550hp in his Camaro. Plus, most people take dyno numbers for cash. You can get different numbers from different dynos with the same car and setup. A dyno is a tool to tune an engine/car. In my book, if you want real numbers, weight your car with you in it, then go to the dragstrip, do a few runs, then use your average MPH and vehicule weight to calculate your HP, using a Moroso ruler, or horsepower calculator. This is, in my opinion, the best way to know the real HP numbers. Do not use the ET in the calculator, ET's vary too much. ET tells how good or bad your car hooks, or how good or bad a driver you are, trap speed tells the HP.
Bruno Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 the thing is the dyno doesn't lie, that's documentable proof that your car makes the power you are claiming. times at the track too tell the truth about how truly fast or quick a car is. alot of people like the brag about how much HP they have or how fast thier car is but without documented proof it's just a bunch of hot air and bull. To me, a dyno sheet is not proof, like I said, different numbers can be had using different dynos. A dyno is a tuning tool, you put your engine or car on the dyno, then try different settings/parts, always on the same dyno. If someone claims big HP with dyno sheets as proof, I will believe it when I see it on the track. mph / weight is proof, that just can't lie. Another thing to consider is that a roller dyno can give erratic numbers, especially with big hp engines, because of the tires spinning on the rollers, which is why we see those dudes sitting on the trunk lid of the BMW in the video.
CEKPETHO BCE Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 tuners and euros are the way 2 go, i had 89 bmw e30 m3 with a s52 turbo pushing 1000+hp on pump gas. i put all the old muscle car guys in my dust all day long. keep up the good work First of all I don't believe you, you need more people. Second of all anything with a large enough turbo can pull crazy horsepower numbers. Third of all why is it that theres always someone in every car forum trying to say that so and so type of car is better than the other. Who cares? People have different taste in cars. Some like new cars, some like old... I personally like a mostly every kind of cars. This whole "my car is better than yours" over the internet is stupid. If you live in North America muscle cars are more available than JDM and Euro cars. If you live in Europe than obv Euro cars are easier to come by than muscle cars... Let's stop with the whole "muscle beats rice every time" or "euro is the way to go, muscle suck". Please people grow up. Anyways back on topic, that is a nice AE86 and this forum should be about good looking models, not which car is the fastest.
Steve Keck Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 So what? My golf cart will reach terminal velocity. Newton says so. And Harold, could that chill up your spine be the crank out of balance?
Reeves Racing Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 First of all I don't believe you, you need more people. Second of all anything with a large enough turbo can pull crazy horsepower numbers. I agree, how much $ did it take to make the small engine produce that horse power? The only thing that beats cubic inches is cubic dollars...
made007 Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 the thing is the dyno doesn't lie, that's documentable proof that your car makes the power you are claiming. times at the track too tell the truth about how truly fast or quick a car is. alot of people like the brag about how much HP they have or how fast thier car is but without documented proof it's just a bunch of hot air and bull. something else to think about here in regards to the AE86 that started this thread. those cars have a "balance" that few other cars have. they may not be the most powerful or the coolest looking to some but not many cars have that balance. i mentioned my love for the Fox bodied 5.0's and they are very similar in that. the AE86 Toyota's and the Fox Mustangs both are massively popular and for good reason. + 1
