hellonwheelz3 Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 I am getting ready to start on a 1968 corvette 2'n'1. I decided after a long LONG time, that I will be doing the car in testors "purplicious". I have some light grey primer, but i'm not sure if i want to put anything else between the primer coats and the final coats of purple. This particular color of purple is a metal flake. Any hints?
hemi Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 I put silver under the Same color on a van Im doing.Have not put the clear on it yet.
VW Dave Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Any hints? Test it out on something other than the Vette body....like maybe white plastic spoons. Shoot it over silver, over gray primer, and also try it over gloss black. You might be amazed at the difference a base color makes. These three spoons have the same Tamiya top color(mica blue), but three different bases(L-R black, gunmetal and silver):
hemi Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Now thats a tip I will be remembering Dave thanks for passing it along.
