bigdodge88 Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 (edited) Hello everyone, I think its time to do my first build thread on here. I am building an Aoshima/Hot Company Toyota Long Bed. I am doing A LOT of scratchbuilding for this one. Including: swapping a 6.1L Hemi , scratchbuilt 2 1/2 ton Rockwell axles, funtional four link suspension with working coil-overs and maybe some other stuff along the way. This one will be my most detailed and longest build I have ever done, so bare with me please. On to the pictures... Frame after all the IFS/unneeded parts were removed Cab partial assembled, belly pan modification started to fit the 6.1 in Started one of the Rockwells And finally my model partner, he always lays next to me when I am working Edited November 1, 2010 by bigdodge88
ian ashton Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Very cool. Will your real truck have a 6.1L in it as well? Funny you posted the pic of the dog, mine is always sitting right next to me on the desk (3 pound t-cup poodle) BTW - your package went out today

Thanks for sending that out Ian, I appreciate it. I will be building a scale cummins for each of those trucks. (that should be fun)
bigdodge88 Posted November 2, 2010 Author Posted November 2, 2010 Did some more work. The Aoshima kit doesnt come with a motor, just an oil pan and lower transmission molded into the frame. So I cut the hood off so the Hemi will be visible when I want it to be. Now I have to build an engine compartment and a slight lip for the hood to sit on. Looks pretty good in there.
