  1. www.MCACN.com The Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals is a huge car show full of ultra rare muscle cars - part of the show includes a free entry (no limit of cars) model car contest, sponsored by Model Empire. Entry into the model car contest gets you a 2 day ticket for the price of one (buy a Saturday ticket, get Sunday for free!) Bring out our cars, we'd love to see 'em! Location: Donald E Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont IL
  2. Why would you delete your question after its answered? Leave it for others that may have the same question in the future.
  3. My '70 Challenger convertible and '69 Satellite convertible - build threads on here somewhere;
  4. Here are a few pictures I snapped from the MCACN (www.MCACN.com) Model Car Contest last weekend. The CARS In Miniature crew did another great job with the contest and Revell Make & Take!
  5. There are always some deals to be found. I just got a '75 Dart Sport original issue built up, mint box for $15 shipped. The prices on new releases are what really shock me!
  6. Just got an email; Ian, It was just brought to my attn , your post on MCM I actually thought more of you .... Happy Thanksgiving Don Man, you model car guys are all drama. Reminding me why ignored this place for the last 6 months, lol.
  7. I'm heading to Chicago in a few hours, can't wait for the show (both real and scale!)
  8. I wil be there again, of course. This year I'll even be around during show hours I'm bringing my Challenger, and maybe a few others. See y'all there!
  9. I'm heading down in a few hours as well. Going to enter my Challenger in the model contest.
  10. There is a seller on eBay that makes waterside, they are excellent, but I don't think there are any listed right now.
  11. Yep - actually I usually run it for him, I just make him give the awards out, lol.
  12. With the cost of trophies and generally decreasing interest in the hobby I'd say most promoters will take all the paying entries they can get, regardless of how many times they've been at the show. Also, the ISCA rule was a maximum of 2 consecutive winning points seasons, with a third year allowed, but no points counted. Not like it matters, I'm sure most individual 1:1 car shows (on the ISCA circuit and not) try to avoid consecutive year repeats.
  13. Is your friends car a real Baldwin Motion Camaro?
  14. Who gets angry about a model car contest? After about age 16 that's unacceptable. This is a hobby, I don't build models to win a trophy, I build models because ts fun for me. Going to shows or contests is just an excuse for to mingle with like minded people. I suspect that is why the NNL events are so successful.
  15. Looks awesome so far, I love the color.
  16. Looks really good! I recently got a copy of the original movie, but am having a heck of a time finding the newer one.
  17. Man, you must watch my site like a hawk, I just uploaded the pictures to the site this morning! Thanks for posting 'em for me
  18. I just found that a local automotive book store carries MCM, so I was able to purchase my first copy, and I must say it is everything that SA is not, in a good way. I probably won't subscribe, because I like the store that carries it, so I'll buy it there - a virtual win win
  19. Ah that is sweet! You can never too much reference materail, so I'll keep at it That is defiantely a great resource as well though, thanks!
  20. Working on it, slowly but surely. Nearly every aspect is giving me trouble it seems - I found that the black Testors One Coat is metallic I had purchased for this project is metallic, I found this out by spraying it on the chassis. I figured I'd just prime over it and spray the Tamiya TS-Whatever Black over top, but it looked terrible, so I stripped it down to bare plastic to start over. Prime is drying on the chassis right now. I'm not sure if the interior is going how I'd like or not - right now it is drying, I used a Testors One Coat light blue (don't recall the name) which is also heavy metallic, however I plan to spray everything with Dull Coat, so I think that the metallic will actually add a cool dimension to it, sort of like the factory vinyl actually looked, I'll know for sure when I get the dull coat on. On the up side, I won the Small Letter Polyglas tire decals on eBay, and they are absolutely amazing! I am considering trying to get the guy to do a single size run for me that I will package and sell in sets, rather than complete sheets (for those working on a budget) - more to come on that at a later date. So, here are some pics of the tires: After a good layer of Testors Dull Coat: I've found that they look much better if I bury them in dull coat, rather than just "dusting" it on. I also got a little more done on the engine, basically just have to put the belts and fan on, and do a little more detail painting:
  21. lol, its the second one, at the top of the page, right under MCM! The links open to the various body groupings, I must admit the Links section was something I just thought of last night, so there isn't much there yet.
