Question about parachutes on 60`s and 70`s funny cars

I am looking through my pictures, and I cannot tell where the parachute cables connect to under the car. I am building the Chi-Town kit. Do they connect to the frame? The rear axle?

Yes.

Depends on the car. Actually most often they are connected to the frame, down low, near the rear end.
