I am interested in buying 1 of these kits, but can`t seem to find 1. My question is, is the kit worth the search , & how much should I expect to pay, if I find 1 ?

Thanks, Chris Downs

Do you mean the Peterbilt 353 "Western Life" or the Peterbilt "Canadian Hauler"? Model Express has them listed for about $65.

I was looking for Revells Peterbilt "Alaskan Hauler" It may be the same as the "Canadian Hauler" but with differant decals ?

I know and have had many Revell of Germany kits...if that is what you are asking.they build well.but in my opinion some parts are not accuate....I've measured and compared them with the real thing.but you don't see the parts that are not accuate most of the time.price very on kit and age of kit but most of the time are about 60.00 dollars. Thanks,Chris

The Revell of Germany Peterbilt 359 (actually a Revell USA designed kit) is a great kit.

The Bill Signs issue is probably the best version with its own frame, wheels, exhaust, chrome trim ect.

The other 359 kit variants ("353") aren't so great - the big bumper and the diamond plate fenders are inaccurate to a factory built peterbilt. The diamond plate fenders shape is wrong for a true 353, and a 353 has a butterfly hood not a tilt hood.

The 353 versions build as a normal 359.

Versions:

Alaskan 353, Canadian Hauler and the recent "western life 353" all build into a nice 359. Scrap the big bumper and the diamond plate fenders.

Good to know. Where do you recommend you get correct front floats for the Bill Signs Peterbilt 359? Isn't the actual truck a 359-127?

How about some KFS wide fronts or one of the tires that Sourkraut carries?

The last Peterbilt Alaskan hauler I saw sell on Ebay went for around $120, I have one and have built one, they go together pretty good and are a nice lookin truck as a tridrive.

This is just my opinion. Can't tell you what about it is authentic, only that its a nice big truck!
