camaroman Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 (edited) I have had this kit in the stash for a longgg time. It was one of several kits that almost did not survive a minor flood in my downstairs office. It has been in a baggy for about 10 years. After I saw this eo on ebay I went looking for it. On the build, I have not made pics yet, but have cleaned up the body and have it ready for primer and paint as soon as it stops raining here. Paint will be Testors EO with a black top and interior. I will deviate from the inspiration and build it as the last of the 409's with some chrome goodies such as the Valve covers and air cleaner. My plan is to use the Cali Wheels from the Revell 59 Vette kit. I do need a decal sheet if anyone has a spare. Otherwise I will have to piece together a 66 Impala set with some 409 decals from another source (any suggestions?). I cannot for the life of me figure out why this kit has not been reissued. The details are fantastic, right down to the cooler for A/C unit have the details even on the side that will be hidden by the radiator! Please feel free to post a picture of your finished 65 Impala convertible here for my viewing pleasure as well as others... Edited November 17, 2010 by camaroman
Borgis Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Sorry for the link but I cannot figure out how to steal the photo to save them in my computer. I have asked the seller to send me the file for reference sake. On the build, I have not made pics yet, but have cleaned up the body and have it ready for primer and paint as soon as it stops raining here. Dude, I love the -65 convertibles too. I had one and sometimes I miss it to death... Good luck with the build. I'll keep an eye open. Got a couple of them kits in my stash too. About saving the pictures, You've got some kind of program for editing pictures, right? (I hope you do, otherwise it'll be tricky). If you do, just fire it up, go to the ebay pictures. Enlarge the desired picture, hit the Print Screen key on your keyboard. Then switch to the imaging program (application?) and look for a "Paste as new image"command or something like that. Hopefully you now see a picture of your screen. Just crop what you want to save and then save the picture somewhere safe. I hope this made sense... Good luck, once again! /Borgis
