gray07 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Iam just wandering has anybody ever built the 1/43 scale truck and trailers, i noticed you dont here much about them, i know amt had some i dont know if anybody else had them. AMT i know had goodyear,7-up, pepsi, and dannon yogurt and there probally more that i dont know about. I just notice everybody talks about the other scales, were these bad kits, i know they had both conventional and cabovers. Just wandering
highway Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I had a few back in the 90s and I thought they were not bad kits. I just wish I could get some again! I have a Heller kit that is a 1/43 scale, too. It is a Peterbilt 359 and dry van or reefer trailer. It's been a long time since I seen the AMT kits, but I believe this Heller kit could possibly be the same kits, as the few trucks are the same as what AMT offered.
mistermodel Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 The only one I ever had was the shockwave pete. These could be built into cool heavy haulers with all the die cast equipment in the smaller scales.

ZIL 111V Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 AMT's 1/43 truck 'n' trailer kits are really nice "full detail" kits presented back in 1973-74. 2 Tractors: Pete 359(Small Windows)/ KW K123, and 2 Fruheauf box trailers(Rinsby Reefer/APA Post), a 359 Holmes tow truck version & finally a KW K100 "86" Aerodyne (RARE), were made in the series, AMT did a really nice job on all, fully detailed frames & engines like the bigger 1/25th ones...remember buying most of the sets back in 70's early 80's. You could buy them all in seperate boxes or sets, in 1976-77 Truck-Trailer "one box" sets were made available: PEPSI/GoodYear KW, or 7UP/K-MART Pete, a double Pete 359 (tractor/towtruck)..to name a few. AMT kept them all in catalog thru the 70's, Matchbox also did until '83 (seperate kits & sets), ERTL only kept the Tractors : Pete 359 Tractor & Towtruck, KW K123 & Aerodyne, until 86-87 The kits did comeback (in 2003 approx) when French Heller boxed them in a trio box: KW123/Pete359/359 Wrecker, also got the Wrecker 359 sold in it's own box (did not see the KW Aerodyne).... Oddly ....no chrome plated parts...all white plastic!!!!! Really nice models when completed for such a small size, again AMT did a great job back then on such "tiny" kits. Wish Round2 could bring back all of them....with chrome plated parts

Mine is not one you mentioned though, it is a Pete 359 with I believe a reefer trailer, and truck and trailer have "Navajo" markings.
gray07 Posted November 20, 2010 Author Posted November 20, 2010 I just looked on ebay there are a few of them on there, they are high priced,
