Hey guys, pretty new to all this modeling stuff. With some suggestions from some friendly members, I am going to prime the body and the engine parts. After I prime a part, how long should I wait before I paint it? And should I do one or more coats. Thanks for helping a noob. B)

Get everything together in subassemblies first, then prime them. As to length of time to topcoat; some can be topcoated in an hour, some will take days before topcoating. And will you sand the primer smooth or topcoat over the initial primer surface?

i probably wont sand since this is my first one and i want a bit more experience with just basic assembly and painting. Any suggestions as to any particular type or brand of spray paint to use for the body and such? I have some small bottles of Testors Enamel that i'm gonna use for details. Also, any suggestions on how to rig a stand for the body or smaller parts when i prime them?

I've had my best results with Model Master primer, and paints. I hear Tamiya is good too, but I haven't been able to get really good results from it.

I suggest getting some 600 or 800 sand paper and use it to wet sand the primer. If you're shooting from a can, it will look a lot better with a light wet sanding between coats.
