CaptainAhab Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Hey guys...made a newbie mistake and got glue on the side of the door right at the end of my build...very disappointed. Is there a way to remove the glue without removing the paint? I used 3 or 4 coats of high gloss enamel. No clear-coat. Any Advice?
Harry P. Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Try to gently pick off the glue with the tip of a sharp X-acto blade. You might get lucky and be able to pop the glue off, because regular model glue doesn't stick to paint. If you can get most of it off that way, then use some very fine sandpaper to clean up any mess still left and finish up with a polishing kit or some liquid polish from the auto parts store. If the glue won't come off easily you might have to sand it off. If you're lucky you'll get it off without going through all the paint. Once you get it off, use either the polishing kit or liquid polish to bring back the shine. If you do go through the paint, you'll have to respray the area (but not necessarily the whole body).
CaptainAhab Posted November 30, 2010 Author Posted November 30, 2010 Thanks Harry. Ill give it a shot
