chris coller Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Gotta throw my hat in the ring here. If you all spent as much time building models instead of arguing about them and real cars your skills would be phenomenal and you could design your own "custom" cars. Man the drama. Sounds like a bunch of women in a beauty salon bickering about their husbands. I miss the old days when folks built things and compared notes.
Jordan White Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Meh I'm at school right now, thus I can't build any models, so I can at least bicker to pass the time.
randx0 Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 hey guys im going out to buy some more models but not sure what i want. what are some models that are easy ones that are good for beginer customizing. I would suggest a lindberg (previously AMT) 34 ford pick up a good one to try a top chop and or sectioning and or channeling .because the body is pretty square it should be easier than say a 49 mercury to chop. I think that mark gustafson has done the best job of teaching these techniques but his articles were printed 20 years ago. well that just made me feel out of touch. has anyone else done comprehensive articles about customizing in a model magazine lately?
ClassicPlastics Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 With no disrespect meant here guys, but all this arguing about what is 'custom' has taken away from the intent of this post. SOME here have actually made suggestions as to what kits would be good to get for possible future builds/customization/personalization. I am a new builder and even though my boyfriend offers up his assistance on this matter, I too am still curious (as a matter of fact, I believe he posted earlier in the thread with suggestions). I hate to sound this way, but how about all the scrutiny of the word 'custom' gets dropped and we all consentrate on suggestions for kits? (just a silly girls suggestion here guys)

Do any of you really think your petty debate has assisted anyone, but to inflate your own egos? How sad!!! I don't think this was the purpose behind this thread. Get over yourselves! Jordan White Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Yes okay we all understand your concerns. If you note, the last annoyed post was yesterday.
