chuckinredneck Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 When I started this kit I was going to build it box stock but then I was trying to drill out the end of the headers to make them look better and the drill blew out the side so I had to make new heards from aluminum tubing and my box stock creation became this. I found a better fuel pump in my parts box. and then detailed the roadster with everything I could think of. Chuck
jbwelda Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 yes very nice! ive had a question about this kit and now is as good a time as any... is this bantam body the same one that used to be in a revell parts pack? being amt and all i would sort of doubt it but just thought there might be a chance...been looking for a revell parts pack bantam body for a while now...
chuckinredneck Posted May 3, 2006 Author Posted May 3, 2006 No this isn't the Revell Part Pack bodythis is a reissue of the old MPC kit only being AMT now. It seems to me like there's something not the same but I cann't say what it is and I may be thinking the Winged Express kit
oldcars Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 It really looks good. Did you clearcoat over the decals? If you did, what brand of paint?
MikeBoyle Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Nice bantam! My build started the same way and still isn't finished!
chuckinredneck Posted May 3, 2006 Author Posted May 3, 2006 yes i clear coat over the decals as soon as I'm satisfied with the color coat I then add about 3 thin coats of clear. I use plasti-kote paints for doing the bodies of my models. Most of the time I use rattle cans but this model I used my airbrush. Chuck
Mal.au Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Hey Chuck I have just been thinking about coil over shocks for my 32 ford, are the ones on the front of you bantam kit parts or scratch built, because they look really cool If they are Kit shocks how did you paint the springs?? If they are scratch built where did the sping come from ??
chuckinredneck Posted May 4, 2006 Author Posted May 4, 2006 The springs are the ones that came with the kit. I paint them with flat black and then Ill dry brush silver onto the raised sring coils. good you eoiy yuy
oldcars Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I'm an old rattlecan fan,but after looking at the pictures over and over, I think someday I might have to try a spraygun. Even my wife says I should get one. You can't beat that. I said earlier that your car is cool. I should have just said one word. WOW!
