ratnasty Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 (edited) Hello guys I'm leaving the 1/25th scale to go into the 1/16th scale . Here is my first try at it . It is going to be a Fighting Irish funny car Edited January 15, 2011 by ratnasty
flamefink Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Looking good! Where did you get the body and wheels/tires?
ratnasty Posted December 22, 2010 Author Posted December 22, 2010 Body is from Flash Point Resin and the wheel are a set of aluminum centerlines I cut up and added Comp resin centers. The centerlines that I cut up are from Scale Repros thanks Chuck

Maybe they could start making kits with the alum rim and different resin centers. That would be VERY COOL.
flamefink Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Killer work on the wheels. If somebody started makin wheel sets like that, I'd be in for a couple sets! I've been itchin to do something different with a 1/16 Funny car so I'm definitely watchin this one.
Len Woodruff Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Excellant job Chuck! Looking forward to the rest of the build.
Ben Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Jim Littiken on the forum here (micro nitro) makes some really cool 1/16 drag wheels for funny cars and such, out of aluminum. His work is top quality too!
moparmagiclives Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Your small scale "Irish" car was killer, I would expect nothing less of this one. Great start.

ratnasty Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) After doing some measurements on the Camaro I found out that the body was done for a 120 inch wheel base car. The real Camaros were 118 inch so I took out 3/16 of an inch in front of the windsheild and the front end was to narrow so I added 3/16 of an inch to the front tapered down to zero in the back .Here are some pics of it roughed in . I may have to cut the roof section off and slide it forward an 1/8 of an inch also , I need to do so more measuring first. more later thanks Chuck Edited January 13, 2011 by ratnasty
baddgass Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) You'r doing a lot of nice work on this one Chuck. And some cool models in the back ground! Edited January 13, 2011 by baddgass
ratnasty Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 Here are a few parts that came in ie. wheels ,pulleys and An fittings. I started to mess around with 1 of the front wheels to see how it might look polished and it looks cool. Now these prts I'm sure which car I will build thanks Chuck
ratnasty Posted January 15, 2011 Author Posted January 15, 2011 Well I finally have all the body panels moved where I want them now come the sanding , filling and blending the the body will be done . This body might get recasted because I don't want to do this again. Chuck
