Kaleb Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Just wondering if there were other artist on the board. This is my second hobby and my first painting's in eleven years.
diymirage Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 those are nice Kaleb i think you will feel right at home in the "car art" section of our forum thats where we keep al the sketches, drawings, painting and you name it that our members make also, go into the community build section and look at the jairus build youll like that
Kaleb Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 I would have but these are not car art. I do have some of my car sketches though over in car art. Havent tried painting cars im still trying different techniques in shading, lighting and blending.
moparmagiclives Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Nice canvis work. I also do some painting, though mostly airbrush work. I do like water color and color pencils too. I've been doing a few mail boxes. This was on a piece of card stock, testing out some water borne auto air...
Kaleb Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 Nice, I will eventually get into airbrushing(when I learn my gun) I want a gravity fed airbrush. I will eventually get into oils and water-colour. Very little color pencils and oil crayons. Im doing a sketch of a family in our church right now. It will be just black and white.

I have 6 air brushes and their all siphon feed with plug in cups for them. After tryin ta use the cups I decided it was much easier ta clean them using bottles of thinner rather than fool with the cups. Their a real pain, haven't used one since. Just some advice.
moparmagiclives Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I have a few of each style. If you plan on switching colors alot on the same job (like tee shirts) then a bottle fed is the way to go. but I prefer the control and compact size of a fixed cup grav fed. just my 2 cents.
Kaleb Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 I cant seem to get mine to work right, It uses a cup but when I thinned the paint nothing would come through. It clogged the needle. I took it apart, cleaned it and re-assembled it and shot water through it. Can I leave the paint in the bottles?
