Jared Roach Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) Since I'm now waiting on the paint to strip on the syclone, I desided to start Revells 02 camaro So I am using the ls1 from the revell 98 trans am, bascily because it's the same engine in this kit and it's already painted in stockish colors, and also because I'm saving the unbuilt ls1 for a protouring project thats coming up after this build. I finished sanding off the copyright info on the chassis and I have to finish the rear wheel wells I cut out the tubs for the new camaro rims. I'm also working on getting that front bumper to look better from the way it came in the box, because it fits pretty bad. Thanks for looking. Edited February 5, 2011 by Jared Roach
Jared Roach Posted January 9, 2011 Author Posted January 9, 2011 Thanks. I love the look of older cars with newer factory rims on them. I am going to paint them semi gloss black after I finish fixing the sink marks in one of the rims.
Clay Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 That looks pretty good Jared. I got a couple of these sitting in my stash some where.
Jared Roach Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 (edited) Thanks clay, I got a little update. So I pulled the 02 out again, and I am now going to change the color to silver after a paint mess up. I was looking around and found a 98 trans am ws6 That I built awhile back, and was in need for a redo. So I striped that also and now they will be built side by side. Both cars will be silver. I personally like the ws6's styling over the camaro, but I still like both cars. I got some spots that need a little work on both cars after stripping the paint on both, but hopefully they will have some color on them soon. Thanks for looking. redknight Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I really like this thread!! I belong to an f-body club in my state and own a '96 Camaro. This will be right up my alley!
Jared Roach Posted February 8, 2011 Author Posted February 8, 2011 Thanks guys! Thats a real good looking ws6 wheelman. I haven't done much to them to take pics, just doing some filling and re-scribing the panel lines since they arn't that deep. I also sprayed the undersides of the hoods and spoliers in silver, going to clear them later. I got the rims to the t/a painted black too.
