I've been watching the news about the floods down under, and I wanted to express my concern and well wishes to all of those who are affected or have loved ones affected. Be safe.

Thanks Doug,

So far so good for me in Sydney. I've heard of two modelors in Toowoomba who watched it flow past them.

Andy Douglas of www.scaleautomobilia.com.au is in the firing line though.

I recon in 24 - 36 hours and his shop will be under. Not for the first time.

James.

Hope you folks will be okay down there.

My hat is off to your prime minister/president - the lady who said if you don't like it here (Australia), get out.

Some of the video I have seen on the news is stunning. I have seen houses and cars float away before, but not at the speed that is being shown. I hope all stay safe.

I live just north of Bribane at Caboolture and we were cut off yesterday but now the water has receeded, and it has finally stopped raining!.

I'm on the sunshine coast which is 1 hr north of brisbane which is getting hit now and we have been hit with minor flooding but nothing like towoomba,it's hard watching so many peoples homes get wrecked in a matter of minutes,no time for them to save anything, the last i heard was 10 confirmed dead and about 67 odd missing

Mother Nature doesn't mess around. Our local newspaper stated 20 dead and that a 10 foot high wall of water crashed through Brisbane. Terrible news. Stay safe down there folks.

as of this morning our time 12 are dead and 74 now missing, the latest deaths were a mom and two kids clinging to their car and when a rescue worker got to them the 13yr old son who doesn't know how to swim asked for his younger brother to be saved first and when they got back for him and his mom they had been swept away, very sad indeed, most of brisbane is now under about 6ft of water

Yeh it's becoming a problem, snakes everywhere and even sharks sighted in the flood waters around brisbane, one guy yesterday died in brisbane after walking in the flood waters and he got sucked into a storm drain so still many dangers even though the water levels are starting to drop

Also on the brisbane river is a iconic concrete walkway which broke off and started floating down the river towards motorway bridges it was a piece weighing 300 tonne so could have been big trouble but was safely manouvered out the way by a tug boat

to put the floods in perspective 4x the land mass of New Zealand is under water, madness.
