After some body work tonight i think it will pass and be able to move onto the next step..

I have been gathering parts tonight as well and trying to come up with a plateform for this build..(here's the list of parts)

1. 1969 Merc cougar for complete interior tub, mainly because the front bucket seats are wider and bigger then the Org kit had.and the dash is so close it will work.....dash doesnt have Factory Air Outlets etc.....but it is otherwise the same as the 70.

No center consule so i can but a 4spd shifter in.

2.Boss 302 engine with 4spd from 1969 Cougar

3.Still seeing what i can come up with for wheels....have tried so many i dont know which way to go yet.......

4.Chassis will be out of the 1973 Cougar kit Mainly cause its the same thing (LOL)

5. Decided to leave the rear spoiler off and the front Valance spoiler off as well (gona make it a sleeper LOL)

6. Still gona use the yellow color as soon as i can get some from MCW or HOK etc.

Have it finally in the mock up stage as of yesterday!

The front suspension i removed from the chassis and added a spacer block to raise the upper A-frame alittle so the stance will be alot better! then the other one i did.

Using the 69 merc cougar for the interior tub! and save the Convertible inter tub for another drop top down the road some day.......

raised the rear end up some too but cutting off the little stub and adding plastic stock alittle longer, put jack stand under rear and kept raising it till i got the desired ride height........

Also drilled out for the rear spoiler,And drilled out the side mirriors and pinned them so install with be faster and easyer.

Quite the trick to say the least! didnt have much yellow left and was the wrong color anyway! I grabbed acouple other cans of paint and mixed my own! then air brushed on! ( I couldnt wait any more i needed to get the yellow on it! LOL)

I like it alot. Had a real one and would love to get my hands on a model, but they are hard to come by as you know. I finally got a 1967 Cougar on ebay but need to get stock parts for it. had a real one of it also. I also liked your convertible. Wish they would repop those Cougars stock. Keep on saving them.
