allecb Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 i see a lot of these models on here have really cool rims that would be like 24's in real life. or some of the rims are black with chrome lip..i dont understand, where do you find these totally cool rims at? do some of you just buy kits just for parts, and dispose of the rest? i dont have money to throw like that.. ha :/
JamesW Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 scaledreams.com I know there's others but I can't think of tem right now.
JPR Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 I get mine from alot of places it really just depends on what Im looking for. For the rims you are talking about scaledreams or modelexpress carries them, they are made by pegasus hobbies normaly. Also alot of Japanese model companies like Aoshima and Fujimi make rims that look amazing but can be hard to find. What I do sometimes as well is go find a cheap diecast car with rims I like but it and just use the whole thing for parts.
allecb Posted January 16, 2011 Author Posted January 16, 2011 Ab, here are some examples... how much are they usually?
RodneyBad Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Pegasus being the cheapest starting at $4 for tires and $9+ for wheels & tires. Fujimi runs $10-13 Pegasus Hobbies- 93 options but some with out pics right now. http://pegasushobbies.net/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=tires&search_x=0&search_y=0&sort=2a&&page=1 Models Roundup has some http://www.modelroundup.com/SearchResults.asp Yes, and ScaleDreams too http://stores.scaledreams.com/-strse-Pegasus-Hobbies/Categories.bok and that other place http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=1%2F24%20wheels%20fujimi&rt=nc&LH_PrefLoc=2&_fln=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m283
MikeMc Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Pegasis also sells sleeves(colored also) that convert their 19" to 23"....that said Pegasis 23s are really scale 20", the 19s scale to 17"..I use a lot of them , some centers come out for paint, others you mask or brush paint. They also have fair discs that show thru ..like these... These are T's 19 and 23 mixed (scale dreams sells mixed Big n littles) with discs
