slant6
Ive had a project planned for quite a while and Im starting to look for the parts. My wife is a huge I Love Lucy fan and I would like to build this scene from the TV show. From what I can find, this car is a 1955 Pontiac Star Chief convertible. Does anyone know, where I can find a model of it, or something that will pass for one.
JamesW
Hey look, there's no windows in it. Onto the question at hand, possibly diecast, not sure if it was ever made in plastic.
trogdor
My dad owned one of those when I was a kid. And that is one of the funniest episodes of I Love Lucy
Dr. Cranky
That picture is just crying out to be turned into a diorama.
59-Desoto
Franklin Mint did a nice die cast of the 55 Pontiac convertible and I have seen a really nice complete resin kit on E bay as well from time to time
samdiego
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Are you kidding me? Could there have been a more comprehensive answer? That's one of the reasons I love this site. Well done, Mark
Guest Johnny
Been to the JoHan site several times. They send you to emodelcars.com but there is never anything Johan listed as far as I have seen. That Johan site is where I sent for a 59 Rambler Wagon and some Rebel Machine decals a few years back but just after sending a M/O the site dissappeard and I never heard from them nor got what I ordered. Later on the site was back looking just like it does now with a link to the above listed.

Hm.. there was a bit of that going around with JoHan - I sent them well over $150.00 for a batch of models some time ago and never got nothing for my money except disapointment. Never again with that name.. just my opinion based on my experience with them.
Starliner Kustoms
Besides no glass has anyone noticed the paint and chrome is dulled down or non-existant? Like the hubcaps almost look like resin casts. LOL Edited January 17, 2011 by Starliner Kustoms
samdiego
They used to spray the vehicles with milk to keep the glares and flares down. Same reason they removed the glass.
slant6
Well, with everything you guys have given me, I'm sure I can find something. I am planning on building it as a diorama, and was also considering making it black and white, so that it looked just like the TV show. Thanks, Ill take a look at all those links when I get home from work and have a little time to browse.
